Salus IRB Study Number 23015-01
Currently dealing
with IBD or RA flare-ups?
If you have been diagnosed with
inflammatory bowel disease (IBD),
ulcerative colitis, indeterminate colitis, or Crohn’s disease, you may be eligible for this research study.
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is now eligible, as well!
What is this study about?
This research study investigates IBD flares: what causes them, their severity, and how long they persist.
Can I participate?
-
You’re 18 years or older
-
You're in the U.S.
-
You’re available for ~3 mo.
Why
participate?
-
Contribute to science
-
Receive your unique immune profile report
What to Expect:
Use 6 test kits over a period of 3-4 mo.
What will I need to do?
-
Total estimated duration: 3-4 months
-
We’ll mail you collection kits.
-
Your 3 baseline samples are spaced 3 months apart.
-
If you flare, you collect whenever* that happens in this 3 month window.
-
Each sample collection takes about 15 minutes.
-
All your samples are sent back to us via mail. We’ll cover the postage and even cover the cost to pick up from your home!
*We coordinate ideal collection times with you.
See what self-collection looks like in the video above.
What will my impact be?
-
Support diverse and inclusive research.
-
Learn what makes your immune system unique with a detailed report explaining your 4 immune cell types: B cells, T cells, NK cells, & monocytes.
-
Help us connect the dots across autoimmunity.
-
Empower yourself to take action during a flare.
How is this research unique?
ImYoo takes a “molecular snapshot” of your immune system to look at your immune cells’ behavior.Typically, study participants have to commute to a research clinic for this test. As a result, low-income, rural, and busy people have been under-represented in the research.
ImYoo has adapted this test for self-collection, so you can participate from home and collect multiple snapshots over time.
Why research IBD flares?
And why compare them to RA flares?
IBD flares are episodes of acute inflammation. Symptoms can include blood in the stool, joint pain and swelling, and skin irritation. These symptoms can persist for up to 8 weeks!
What do RA flares & IBD flares have in common? We'd like to investigate this question! More broadly, we aim to connect the dots across autoimmunity.
